Holy Smokes-I Met David Archuleta!

Yes, you read the blog title right! Emily, Sarah, and I met THE David Archuleta today at the Deseret Book signing in Orem-just a few words, he is the most adorable, sweetest, gold-hearted boy EVER.

AAAHHH!! Oh my word, oh my word, breathe...That adorable boy let me take my picture with him, which was quite fortunate because three girls later in line, they would no longer take pictures. I asked him if I could take a picture with him and he replied, "sure, of course!". When Emily went to stand by him to take a picture, he gently grabbed her shoulder and told her that she could get in closer, and Sarah asked to shake his hand in which he did (she plans on marrying him someday). He signed our CD and addressed it to Sarah, Erica and Liz (my Mom)-David Archuleta. After we met him we just stood with our jaws hanging open about two feet away from him staring like creepy stalker fans as he signed autographs...we couldn't force ourselves to leave for a good half hour afterwards because he was just such a pleasure to stare at. :) And yes, we had to get a picture by the Escalade he rode in. How awesome was today?! Pretty dang awesome.

Daily Outfit-Nerd Glasses and Red Socks

skirt: thrifted, shirt: h&m, cardigan: thrifted, tights:thrifted, boots: thrifted, socks and tights: thrifted, belt: thrifted, nerd glasses: walmart

You know, the more I look at these pictures, the sooner I come to realize that I have...how do you put it...a large forehead? Yikes...Anyways, I wear these boots a lot, and I mean more than I probably should...but aren't they awesome? I don't buy accessories or clothes at Wal Mart because I am usually too busy in their book or movie section...but on my way to the cash register one day I scored these glasses! Sure I get a few, *cough*, several weird looks when I wear them, but if i didn't love them, who would?

Craft Night- Cozy Christmas Garland

I'm pretty sure that I promised that I would post pictures of the garland I put together during craft night a couple of ages back...so, without further adieu...I present the Cozy Christmas Garland!

My Aunt Lisa bought the darling paper houses for me on sale at JoAnn's. They are meant to be wallpaper stick-ons, but I had to use them for something else. I got the glue, rick-rack and glitter out and went to town. For the snow effect on the rooftops of the house I simply drew a line of glue and then dipped in glitter. With a little red rick-rack added it gave the house a more holiday feel. I created the banners with regular patterned cardstock. All you need to do is cut out a thin rectangle and then cut a small triangle shape at the bottom. Line the sides and tips of the banner with glue and dip in glitter. I sewed the pom-poms onto the banner with fishing wire and then placed a pinwheel over the top. To create the actual garland, I adhered the pieces to a piece of ribbon, and there you have it, a cozy Christmas garland!

Andy Grammer In Concert!

I get a text the other day from my dear dear friend Becca. The conversation goes somewhat like this:

Becca: Hey! Wanna go to Andy Grammer's concert with me on the 16th?
Me: I would love to! Who is the heck is he?
Becca: You know, the guy that sings, "gotta keep your head up oohh ya, gotta let your hair down ooohh yaa"
Me:OOHHH!!! I love that song! Yes, yes, please, please I want to go!!

So I drove up to Murray, met Becca at the Deathstar, I mean the new gigantic hospital in Murray (that smart girl was just getting done with her clinicals), had some dinner and then we headed for the Venue in Salt Lake.

How was I kept in the dark about this man?! He is HOT! Not to mention his songs are adorable, positive, upbeat, and are about things worth singing about. Could you just wrap him up for Christmas and give him to me? Please?

The concert was an absolute blast! The Venue doesn't have assigned seating, so you basically just mosh pit it. Becca and I were literally 5 feet away from him and yelled his name until our throats were sore. Can't wait to buy his CD and play his songs over and over and over...

Daily Outfit: Magenta and Houndstooth

sweater:thrifted, skirt: thrifted, hat: forever21, tights: thrifted, brooch: planted earth, shoes: poetic license

The clouds outside seemed a little on the gray side today, so, I thought to myself, why not brighten it up with a nice, bright, magenta sweater! I found the skirt just the other day at the thrift store and have been practically dying to pair it with a cute vintage sweater. I have had my eye on that ridiculously cute Sarah Coventry brooch since I started working at Planted Earth. On Saturday, I finally made it mine. Happiness. I've been searching high and low for decently priced Poetic License heels. When I found these on Anthropologie's website, I passed out. Not only because they are incredible, but they are also incredibly PRICEY. Thank you eBay! And to my little sister Sarah, seriously, I hope you are enrolled in photography, you have an eye for it!

Treasure Tuesday!

Drum roll please. I am about to introduce to you the most incredible, keel over, amazing sweater you will ever see...

Can you say, HOLY SMOKES WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FIND? This little beauty was discovered late one Saturday evening at my place of employment, Planted Earth.Seriously, if you haven't stopped by the adorable little Victorian house on St. Street, now is the time to do so. I found this sweater upstairs in the clothing section, and boy did I whip it off the hanger! Penny, the store owner, (I don't know how she does it, but she KNOWS the history behind each item in her store...amazing) told me that I won't find anything like this. This sweater was made in Hong Kong with each bead carefully hand-sewn on. It's almost to amazing to wear!

Movie Monday-The Three Musketeers

So my sister Sarah and I have basically been waiting since, oh I don't know, forever for the movie, "The Three Musketeers" to come out. And why do you ask?

I mean, it should be obvious...

Yes, the movie was great, perfect for families, thrilling chases, epic battles, gushy love stories, you know, the perfect ingredients for an awesome movie. But, I mean, come on...we all know that you're going to go see it for him. That's right, the tall dark and handsome hunk that not only captured the silver screen, but my heart...aaawww...

This movie is mine the moment it's released on DVD. And thanks Sarah for screaming declarations of love for D'Artagnan with me at the theater. :)

DIY: Silhouettes

 1. Select a cute oval shaped frame. The oval shape creates a classic vintage look. I picked these two frames up for a dollar a piece at the local thrift store.

 2. Either stick with the style of the frames, or select a new color. Since the original colors of the frame didn't match my color scheme, I spray painted them with spray paint. I painted the frames outside to be sure that the paint didn't get anywhere it shouldn't.

3. For the actual silhouettes, I browsed the web for pictures of profiles. After finding a profile, print it out and trace it with tracing paper. Tape the piece of tracing paper to black card stock. Take a small pair of scissors and cut out the shape of the profile. After you are finished cutting, take the tracing paper off.

4. Voila! You now have a custom silhouette! I placed a vintage piece of wallpaper in the background to set off the silhouette. It's fun, simple and a adorable project to display on your wall!

11/11/11

Happy 11/11/11 Friends!

Let's go over some eventful and dare I say monumental happenings of this historic day!

1. H&M. In Fashion Place Mall. It's....in Utah!! While I really REALLY wanted to be there today, I didn't get to go. And I am kind of glad I didn't. I heard that over 1,000 people waited in line, just to get into the store. No thanks!
2.DVD release date! Attention! Harry Potter Part 2, the final DVD to be released is out. Exciting and sad all at the same time. It was on sale at Target for $13 galleons (hehehe), and it is now proudly part of my own DVD collection.
3. There is no one cuter and more angelic than David Archuleta. Combine him with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and you have heaven on earth. My siblings and I are were lucky enough to get tickets to see him perform with the choir last year. I believe and hope that heaven sounds like it did the night of that concert. We now have the CD playing continuously at home. We love you David!
4. Craft night with the girls. I love craft night. Mom made lasaugna, Grandma and Lisa came and we all crafted away. I can't wait to show you the garland I made!
5. OMB (oh my bieber). It's Justin! As an oh my freak adorable animated character. If you haven't seen the music video, you need to. Now. It will make you a "belieber".

Yes, I do think this day was indeed a historic one.

Daily Outfit: Our Guest, Sarah

I would like to introduce my gorgeous little sister Sarah. I know I shouldn't be jealous of my little sisters...but I kind of am. My little sister Emily can play the guitar like it's nobody's business, and my little Sarah, well, she is tall, she is slim, and she looks like she just stepped out of Vogue magazine. Alright, I'll admit it, I'm jealous.  If you haven't already checked out Sarah's blog, visit it at http://adaybeingsarah.blogspot.com/. I promise you'll love it as much as I love her!

Daily Outfit: A Dash of Pink

blouse: thrifted, skirt; thrifted (pendelton), shoes: UO, headband and tights: forever 21, necklace: thrifted, crazy little sister: priceless

I thought it was going to be chilly today so I made sure to bundle up. Well, about halfway through work the heater really started heating up and I was getting WARM. But, on the bright side, it was a gorgeous day outside. Mom and I ran some errands ( she asked if I wanted to go to Savers, I am still in shock), taking Emily to guitar lessons, visiting Grandma and Grandpa (no, that's not an errand, but a pleasure), watching Vampire Diaries (they can't really expect me to wait till January to see the next episode, do they?). Both the skirt and the blouse in this outfit have amazing little details which you can't see...and yes, my little sister always looks like that (haha kidding, but I love her anyways)
